Young boy suffers 'serious burns' during Christmas event at south London church

A young boy has suffered serious burns during a Christmas event at a Croydon church, Met Police have said.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service just before 2.30pm on Wednesday to Our Lady of the Annunciation Church on Bingham Road to reports a boy had received serious burns.

Two adults - a man and a woman - has also received burns but they are not believed to be serious, police said.

The child was taken to hospital by air and his next of kin have ben informed.

The man and woman were also taken to hospital, LAS said.

Oa"We dispatched two ambulance crews, an emergency responder, a medic in a car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance," an LAS spokesman said.

Officers said the London Fire Brigade and Health and Safety Executive have been informed.
