Wallace and Gromit prepare celebrations for Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park has created a "cracking" short film featuring the haphazard animated duo to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The one-minute short features the pair preparing to mark the royal celebrations.

They have already received the royal seal of approval, with the Duchess of Cornwall revealing that the pair are her husband's "favourite people in the world".

Bristol-based animator Park at Aardman Studios teamed up with the National Trust to make the film, A Jubilee Bunt-a-thon.

The mini-movie, which featured Wallace and Gromit scaling ladders to hoist the bunting up around a magnificent Trust manor, will be shown at 14 National Trust locations.

A behind-the-scenes documentary will also be screened at the Trust's Jubilee parties.

Park said: "I have to pinch myself when I think how far Wallace and Gromit have come. From ideas in my head, to 'film stars' working with great organisations such as the National Trust, which the nation holds dear to its heart.

"Wallace and Gromit are in for a cracking summer at the National Trust.

"The National Trust has a special place in my heart from a childhood memory of completing a paint-by-numbers at Stourhead, to Montacute House, on which we based Tottington Hall in the Curse Of The Were-rabbit."

National Trust visitor experience director Tony Berry said: "The National Trust and Wallace and Gromit are two of Britain's greatest treasures and we felt it fitting that in this summer of celebration we should bring them together.

"We are holding our very own premiere of Wallace And Gromit's Jubilee Bunt-a-thon at our properties, it was made exclusively for the National Trust and we are really excited that it will encourage the nation to join us for an extra special Diamond Jubilee celebration."

National Trust sites showing the Wallace and Gromit film at the Jubilee parties on June 4 around the capital are: Basildon Park in Reading and Morden Hall Park in London.
