Nigella Lawson has come under fire for recipes in her BBC programme which explain to viewers how to make dishes like eggy bread and tomatoes on toast.

Viewers of the BBC show At My Table were left dismayed after the famous chef offered up advice on how to make simple recipes such as French toast, cheesecake and tomatoes on toast.

Furious fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration.

One person wrote: “Ground breaking stuff tonight French toast, cheesecake, meringue. Its money for old rope I can’t believe this is worth putting on TV”.

Others said that her cooking required as much skill as pouring a glass of water.
