Unhappy with your job? Don’t worry you’re not alone

Half of workers are unhappy in their jobs and are looking for a more rewarding career, new research has found.

A survey of 2,000 adults by retailer Aldi found that two out of five fell into their job "by accident", while a similar number would consider a pay cut for a better position.

The study found that lack of career prospects, boredom and lack of training were among the reasons workers looked for a different job.

Richard Holloway, head of graduate recruitment at Aldi, said: "From an employer's perspective, people who are seeking a career change bring a range of existing skills with them, and tend to bring a great deal of enthusiasm and dedication to their new role."
