Sun worshippers can look forward to what is forecast to be the hottest day of the year in Britain so far.
Temperatures are expected to reach 23C (73F) or even higher in south-east England, with hot and sunny weather also forecast for much of the rest of the country and parts of Scotland and Wales.
Saturday saw the highest temperature of the year so far at Clerkenwell, central London, where it reached 22.3C (72F).
Millions of holidaymakers and day trippers have flocked to coastal resorts to enjoy the weather.
The AA said ahead of the weekend that it expected to generate more than 40,000 routes for people driving to Brighton over the Bank Holiday, with 20,000 for Blackpool, 17,000 for Bournemouth and 13,000 for Newquay.
Plenty of people were also heading to town and city attractions, with 18,000 off to Edinburgh, 15,000 bound for Oxford, 13,500 for York and 10,000 for Bath.
Those travelling by train, however, should be prepared for delays and bus replacement services. Sunday is likely to be the worst of the weekend, with 38 separate engineering work projects taking place on the railways.
Passengers on the West Coast Main Line, where a £9 billion upgrade was completed last December, will have to travel on buses between Milton Keynes Central in Buckinghamshire and Birmingham International station. Other companies having to run buses instead of trains are SWT, Arriva Trains Wales, First Capital Connect, Northern Rail and the Southern train company.
Around 1.8 million Britons are thought to have travelled abroad over the Bank Holiday.
Forecasters said people should make the most of Sunday's weather - heavy rain is expected on Monday.
