Two charged over £40m jewels raid

Two men have been charged in connection with Britain's biggest jewellery heist.

Solomun Beyene, 24, from St John's Wood, north London, and Craig Calderwood, 26, of no fixed abode, are accused of "conspiring with others" to rob Graff jewellers in New Bond Street, Scotland Yard said.

They have also been charged with a firearm offence.

The pair are set appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court.

Around £40 million of gems and jewellery were stolen during an armed raid at the store on August 6.
