The parents of a British woman killed as an explosion ripped through a bus stop in Jerusalem have spoken of their loss.
Mary Jean Gardner, 59, originally from Orkney, was caught in the blast on Wednesday afternoon when a device weighing up to 2kg exploded in a busy bus station.
She was an evangelical Christian who was studying Hebrew.
About 50 people were injured in the attack, which was blamed on Palestinian militants.
Foreign Secretary William Hague described the incident as a "shocking and despicable act of terrorism".
Her father Tony told the BBC: "We are all devastated by the sudden loss of our daughter in this tragic and unexpected way.
"Mary was a very special person and we thought the world of her. She was devoted to her work and was well liked wherever she went. Her loss in this way has been deeply upsetting for us all."
Ms Gardner, who was unmarried, also left behind her mother Jean, who lives in the Aberdeenshire village of Old Rayne.
Ms Gardner worked for Wycliffe Bible Translators and spent much of her life living in Togo. Wycliffe executive director Eddie Arthur described her as a "lovely lady who was very popular".
The bombing was the first fatal attack in Jerusalem since 2004.
