Support for the Tories is holding up according to two opinion polls on Tuesday, although they paint conflicting pictures of what is happening to the Labour vote.

ICM for The Guardian puts the Conservatives on 37%, unchanged from a week ago, Opinium Research for the Daily Express puts them on 39%, also unchanged from last week.

However, while ICM shows support for Labour falling two points to 31%, Opinium puts them two points up on 31%.

ICM shows the Liberal Democrats down one point on 20% while Opinium has them unchanged on 17%.

ICM interviewed 1,024 adults aged 18 and over by telephone between April 9 and 11. Opinium interviewed 1,825 adults aged 18 and over online between April 9 and 12.

A ComRes poll for The Independent and ITV News put the Tories on 37%, down two points since last week, Labour down two on 30% and the Liberal Democrats up four on 20%.

ComRes interviewed 1,004 adults by telephone on April 10 and 11.
