The Notting Hill cooking princess with an impeccable pedigree

Move over Nigella, there’s a new TV cooking star in town - and this one comes with an ever posher pedigree.

Emma McQueen, 26, became engaged last month Ceawlyn Tyhnne, also known by his title Viscount Weymouth, heir to the Marquess of Bath and the stately home of Longleat.

The future Lady Bath is now juggling next year’s wedding plans with her new job presenting an online cooking show on the EntertainmentWise website.

Emma grew up in London and went to Queensgate School before studying at UCL and then training as an actress at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

But she says her love of food has now taken precedence over her acting career. She has a food blog and eventually hopes to publish her own cookery book.

Her self-titled cooking show is filmed in the kitchen of her fiance’s Notting Hill flat and, she says, will focus on healthy but tasty food such as cod with padron peppers.

A self-taught cook, she cites Jamie Oliver as a hero and credits Delia Smith’s books with providing her with the basics, but says she is determined not to ape Nigella’s style.

“I think she’s great but my food is healthier than hers,” she says. “She’s very sexual and Italian and I want my style to be a bit different.

"Mine is fun and flirty and I want viewers to come on a journey with me as I learn more about food.”
