Pyramid ranking of Britain's favourite crisps sparks outrage

Brits have been left outraged after an 'investigation' into the nation’s favourite crisps saw Pringles, Doritos and Walkers come out on top.

Britain's Favourite Crisps, which aired on Channel 5 last night, sparked a frenzy on social media with the result branded “a national disgrace” and an “utter travesty”.

A two-hour investigation saw different snacks ranked, with a final pyramid placing the three most popular in the 'God Tier'.

However many people have complained that a number of featured snacks are not even crisps, while others lamented the absence of their personal favourites.

“What sort of monster votes Pringles or Doritos as their favourite crisps,” wrote one person on Twitter, while another said: “This pyramid infuriates me.”

Another said: "I've lost faith in the British public after this travesty, no wonder the country is falling apart if people think Pringles are god tier while Wotsits and Quavers are only mid tier.”

One person wrote: “WHY IS MONSTER MUNCH SO LOW DOWN?”

"As if Salt & Vinegar Squares aren’t one of the best crisps? Also, plain Pringles shouldn’t be anywhere near the vote! Behave,” another added.

“Most aren’t crisps,” another frustrated commenter remarked, with people singling out baked snack Mini Cheddars as one which should not have appeared on the list.

Others have pointed out the absence of such favourites as French Fries, Skips and Frazzles.

One said: “What the - WHERE ARE MY DAMN SKIPS????”

“No Frazzles & No Discos?!?!? Mini Cheddars aren’t even flipping crisps either,” said another Twitter user.

Another questioned: “Why are space raiders missing?”

The second rung in the pyramid featured McCoy's, Kettle, Tyrells and Sensations.

The ‘Mid Tier’ featured Hula Hoops, Monster Munch, Quavers, Wotsits and Chipsticks. The lowest rung was made up of Mini Cheddars, Salt 'n' Shake, Nik Naks and Squares.

Britain’s Favourite Crisps will be repeated on Channel 5 at 11.10pm on Friday.
