Prince William takes on the poachers with online game Roll With The Pangolins

Plea: Prince William

Prince William gets to grips with a new version of the Angry Birds game — and makes a passionate plea to stop poaching.

The prince recorded the video message to launch a week-long tournament of a conservation-themed version of the game featuring one of the world’s most endangered animals — a scaly anteater called the pangolin.

Roll With The Pangolins has been created by Angry Birds developer Rovio Entertainment and the prince’s United For Wildlife charity to raise awareness of poaching.

The charity, of which William is president, hopes the game’s popularity will help the message reach a huge audience.

In the video, William said: “This criminal trade is responsible for the illegal slaughter of tens of thousands of animals a year …  These species are being pushed to the brink of extinction due to poaching. These magnificent creatures will die out in the wild during my lifetime if we do not take notice now. I would love your help to spread the message about this crisis.”
