Mother remanded on baby boy death

Police have charged a woman following the death of a 10-day-old baby

A mother has been remanded in custody after being charged with murdering her 10-day-old baby boy.

Katy Norris, 30, from Brixham, Devon, appeared before magistrates in Torquay after her son, Leo Norris, died on Tuesday.

Police and ambulance crews were called to an address in Brixham just after 11am following a report that the infant had stopped breathing.

The baby was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Norris did not enter a plea during the hearing and was remanded in custody until Friday, when she will appear before Exeter Crown Court.
