12 April 2012

A 23-year-old man who died from a stab wound has been named by police.

Zimbabwean Tarirai Ransome Munjanja, known as Terry, was fatally wounded in a fight at a property in Bradley Road, Baylis, in Slough, at 10.30pm on Saturday.

He died at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough about an hour later. A post-mortem examination showed the cause to be a haemorrhage due to a stab wound to the stomach.

Thames Valley Police have launched a murder investigation. Det Chf Insp Mick Saunders, who is leading the probe, said: "This appears to have been an entirely pointless loss of life and we are following one distinct line of inquiry to trace a named individual involved in the altercation on Saturday evening.

"Although there are operational and legal reasons why I cannot publicly name him at this time, I am appealing to him to give himself up and give us his account of events."

Mr Munjanja's family and friends have been informed and were said to be "very distressed by his death".
