A patient who was receiving treatment when an angry neighbour slapped a note on the ambulance windscreen has died, it emerged today.

The patient passed away at Heartlands hospital, Birmingham on Friday night.

The man lost his battle for life after receiving treatment from ambulance workers. He was said to have been vomiting blood due to 'massive internal bleeding' near rehabilitation centre Livingstone House, Birmingham.

A spokesman for Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust said: "We can confirm that the patient in question sadly passed away."

While being treated, an irate neighbour slapped a note on the ambulance which read: "You may be saving lives, but don’t park your van in a stupid place and block my drive."

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the ambulance was at the scene in Small Heath for no longer than 30 minutes.

Paramadics shared an image of the note online in disgust.

Paramedic Tasha Starkey was among the first to share the image

John Hagans, a nurse consultant at Livingstone House said: "‘In that situation no ambulance crew should have to worry about annoying others because of parking. It’s ridiculous."

Ambulance service staff were left shocked when the note was put on Twitter and went viral.

Paramedic Tasha Starkey was among the first to share an image, she said: ‘Crew alerted an extremely poorly patient to hospital, minimal on scene time, arrived at hospital to find this note… this patient was TIME-CRITICAL.’
