A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a body in a flat, police said.

Officers went to Winchester Court, Chestnut Walk, Sherwood, Nottingham at about 11.25am on Friday where they found the man's body. His death is being treated as suspicious.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokeswoman said officers arrested a 47-year-old Nottingham man in connection with the incident. He is currently being questioned.

She said the dead man had not yet been formally identified.

In a separate investigation in Nottinghamshire, police on Friday appealed for information about a man whose body was found in his flat in Kimberley.

Darran Anthony Lancashire, 43, was found in his flat in Main Street at around 8pm on Wednesday night.

Police were called to the flat by a member of the public who was concerned for Mr Lancashire's welfare.

Police urged anyone who had seen Mr Lancashire between Christmas Day and Wednesday to get in touch.
