A dad who got himself stuck in a compost bin asked his family for help, only for them to film the whole thing while howling with laughter.

The hilarious video, since uploaded to YouTube, starts as the unfortunate man, named Fred, tells his family he has been stuck inside the green bin for five minutes.

“I wouldn’t know how to begin to help you out of that,” someone says, as a woman cracks up in the background. “Have you got any vegetable oil?” he asks.

“You look like a Dalek,” a woman yells.

Fred explains that he was standing on the bin to clean a roof when he fell straight through it.

He tries standing straight with his hands up in the air for the bin to be lifted off him but it appears to be stuck fast.

Fred then lifts the bin up over his waste and waddles into the garden where he is told to lie on his front.

“Don’t drop me on my face,” he warns as two people lower him on to the floor.

But instead of being pulled out again, his family just roll him across the lawn.

“It’s like Dom Joly,” one says. “It’s like Trigger Happy TV.”

The video ends as Fred appears to start to pull himself free by crawling along the ground like a snail.
