Man and children found dead in car

12 April 2012

The bodies of a man and two children have been found dead inside a car parked near an isolated beauty spot, police said.

The man, a boy and a girl, who have not been named, were found in a Land Rover parked up on an undesignated road near Llanwrst, North Wales.

Police said the incident is being treated as suspicious although at this stage they are not looking for anyone else.

The bodies have not been formally identified but officers believe they are members of a family from the Cheshire area.

A spokeswoman said next-of-kin has been informed.

The area around the vehicle has been sealed off for forensic examinations as house to house enquiries take place.

A spokeswoman for North Wales Police said: "Detectives are treating the deaths as suspicious however, at this time they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

"A post mortem will be held at hospital in Clywd by Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rogers.

"The scene remains sealed off at this time and forensic examinations are being undertaken by North Wales Crime Scene Investigators.

"House to house inquiries are also being undertaken in the area."
