London driver killed in crash at Surrey roundabout

A man from London has died after a crash at a busy roundabout in Surrey.

A silver Volkswagen Passat crashed on the A217 in Lower Kingswood at the junction with Babylon Lane at 6.40am on Sunday.

The male driver, who is in his 30s and from south-west London, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision, police said.

The road, which leads to junction 8 of the M25, was closed while emergency services attended.

Surrey Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision and are urging witnesses to come forward.
