Royal Baby: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding choir to perform lullaby for baby Sussex

The gospel choir that stunned Britain with their performance at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are to perform a special lullaby dedicated to the royal baby.

The Kingdom Choir, who are currently on a UK tour, announced they have written a lullaby especially for Harry and Meghan’s newborn son.

They will perform the tribute on Tuesday night at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.

Choir leader Karen Gibson, 54, tweeted on Tuesday: "Congratulations to their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their baby boy. Love from all of us in the choir. We are so happy for you. God bless.”

The group, based in Clapham Junction, were catapulted to fame after their rousing renditions of Stand By Me and Amen/This Light of Mine at the Sussexes wedding in May 2018.

The performance, filmed by the BBC, has since been viewed more than 7.6 million times online, and led to a record deal with Sony.

To mark the royal couple’s first anniversary, the Kingdom Choir will reprise their beloved hits at the Royal Albert Hall on May 19.

“Whether Meghan and Harry want to spend their anniversary with us I don’t know, but it would be lovely to have them there. It is just down the road from Kensington Palace,” said Ms Gibson.
