Jade Goody’s son Bobby Brazier has revealed he doesn’t necessarily miss his late mum because he “wasn’t with her long enough”.

The 18-year-old model, who is the eldest child of Goody and Jeff Brazier, discussed his feelings in a recent interview about the impact of growing up without his mum.

Brazier was just five years old when his mum died at the age of 27 following a battle with cervical cancer.

Although Brazier and his younger brother Freddie Brazier were raised by their dad, the boys were often told about their mum’s life and her legacy.

Speaking to The Face, Brazier explained he was so used to not having his mum around that it feels normal.

“I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on a mum. It’s normal life to me,” he told the publication. “I’ve kind of spent more life without her than I did with her.”

The model also told of the heartbreaking reason he doesn’t miss his mum. He added: “I don’t. Because I don’t feel like I was with her long enough to miss her.”

Although he is used to living without Goody, he admitted to still feeling pain following her death and sometimes cries when watching videos of her.

He added: “I miss what could’ve been. I hear all the time she was such a presence, that she was one of a kind. What hurts most is that it wasn’t just losing anyone, it was losing Jade. I just would’ve loved to have seen what other people had seen.

“I’m always being told that she’s a hero and that she was funny and that people see me in her on a daily basis, which is nice.”

Brazier and his brother currently live with their father and step mum Kate Dwyer.

Both of Goody’s sons have also ventured into the world of modelling and they are on the way to establishing themselves as well-known figures in the fashion world.

Brazier’s recent interview came shortly after he paid tribute to Goody on Mother’s Day, a day that also marked the 13th anniversary of her death.

Goody was just 21-years-old when she found fame when appearing on Big Brother in 2002.

She later went on to appear on the Indian version of the show in 2008 before learning during the series that she had cervical cancer.

It emerged that her cancer was terminal but Goody continued to make public appearances and speak about her health battle until her death in 2009.

Thousands of women signed up for cervical screenings as a result.
