Anthony Joshua has denied having an affair with fellow boxer Amir Khan’s wife after explosive allegations surfaced on Twitter.

Khan, 30, announced he was splitting from his wife Faryal Makhdoom in a tweet posted from Dubai.

He then sensationally accused her of “moving on quickly” with world heavyweight champion Joshua.

He posted: “Faryal moved on quick. Always mentioned to me how much she wanted to be with another guy, from all people another boxer.” The tweet included Joshua’s handle.

His wife Faryal, a 26-year-old model, hit back immediately in her own lengthy Twitter rant which accused Khan of being the one “in the wrong”.

Then, in an astonishing further twist, Joshua himself spoke up to deny the allegations by referencing a pop hit by Shaggy. “It wasn’t me,” he said.

The full tweet read: “He wrote: "Bantz aside, I hope you guys can resolve your situation or this is a hack as we have never even met! Plus I like my women BBW."

Joshua, 27, from Watford, is an Olympic gold medallist and remains undefeated in his professional career.

The Standard has contacted representatives of Khan and Joshua for comment.
