I’m A Celebrity.... Get Me Out Of Here will be wholly pre-recorded for the first time in the show’s history as a “precautionary measure” due to Storm Arwen, ITV has announced.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly pre-recorded their live parts early on Friday evening and these will be played out during the show.

The broadcaster said the celebrities “will remain inside the castle which is secure and we have contingencies in place to cover all weather scenarios to ensure the safety of our cast and crew.”

The Met Office has issued an amber wind warning for parts of north-east England and Scotland from Friday afternoon, lasting until Saturday morning as the result of Storm Arwen.

Forecasters are expecting gales of up to 75mph, which they say could cause severe travel disruption and damage to buildings.

This year I’m A Celebrity returned to Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales.

The show had previously been filmed in the Australian outback but moved to Wales due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.

There are fears he could be followed by other early exits, with health concerns about Dame Arlene Phillips, 78, who is on painkillers, and music producer Naughty Boy who is receiving counselling because of worries about the health of his mother who suffers from dementia.

Both are said to be struggling with the cold and lack of decent food on the show, but ITV bosses have insisted the show will continue despite its troubles.
