Actor and DJ Idris Elba will headline a show in Clapham next week in support of the Action for Peace concert.

The fundraising event is being billed as an evening of innovative talks, live music performances and street food pop-ups. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to S.T.O.R.M’s family and youth centre in Battersea. S.T.O.R.M is a charity that supports young people in fighting issues such as domestic abuse and knife crime.

Previous headliners of the concert have included national treasures such as Stormzy, Chip, and Big Narstie.

Here’s everything you need to know about the concert and Idris Elba’s set.

What is the Action for Peace concert?

The peace concert has been S.T.O.R.M’s flagship event for the last 15 years, championing rising and established musical talents. The charity says it channels its inclusive ethos of support, positivity and education through direct action to bring awareness around knife crime in London.

S.T.O.R.M was set up by Marie Hanson after she overcame the fallout of domestic abuse.

The charity said London recorded its worst annual death toll from teenage homicides in 2021, with the youngest victim being 14 years old.

Most of those who died were victims of knife crime and many were killed by other teenagers or by young adults in their early 20s.

S.T.O.R.M’s concert brings together like-minded artists, community members, local dignitaries, schools - and more importantly young people and their families. The event aims to educate people about the impact of violence in the community.

The charity offers counselling, practical help and education at its Battersea centre. This also has facilities such as a youth club and a nursery.
