12 April 2012

Police have sealed off an area of woodland at a nature reserve after the discovery of human remains.

West Midlands Police said the remains were found in Coventry's Wainbody Woods by a member of the public walking a dog on Sunday.

Although the remains have been removed for examination by forensic experts and a pathologist, the scene is being preserved while further searches are carried out.

Detective Inspector Stuart Bell said: "The remains have been confirmed as human and the death is being treated as unexplained at this stage.

"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the identity of the deceased."
