Houses searched in attack probe

12 April 2012

A number of houses near Glasgow Airport are being searched in connection with Saturday's terrorist attack on the airport.

A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman confirmed officers had raided properties in the area.

However she could not confirm reports that the properties being searched were in the village of Houston.

The spokeswoman said: "We can confirm as part of the ongoing inquiries into the incident in Glasgow Airport and London a number of houses in the Renfrewshire area are being searched."

She added: "Due to the nature of the investigation no further information will be released at this time."

It is understood the top and bottom of Neuk Crescent, which leads to Neuk Avenue, has been cordoned off with several police officers patrolling up and down.

One resident told how he saw a person in a forensic-style suit going in and out of the house at 6 Neuk Crescent.
