Rock stars, royals and footballers have been named among a list of all-time great British rebels, according to new research.

A survey of 2,000 adults found that Henry VIII topped the poll, with other top 10 rebels including singers Ozzy Osbourne and Sid Vicious, ex-footballer Vinnie Jones, and Guy Fawkes.

The most rebellious woman was named as Elizabeth I, while the most rebellious song was said to be Steppenwolf's Born To Be Wild.

Most of those questioned in the study by Sailor Jerry rum said that being a "goodie two shoes" did not help them progress in life, agreeing that taking chances was the best way to get ahead.

One in four women admitted they were attracted to men with a rebellious streak.
