Hear'say singer Danny Foster has reportedly escaped a dramatic fire that saw a car he was a passenger in burst into flames.

The popstar shared a dramatic video online, which showed a car engulfed in flames, as firefighters battled the blaze.

The singer told his Twitter followers he had been a passenger in the car, which he said was a Vauxhall Zafira, shortly before.

In a stark warning posted to his Twitter followers he wrote: "SHOCKED!! I was a passenger! Vauxhall Zafira Fire - Are you safe? @VauxhallCustSvc THIS MUST STOP! - Please RT Dx."

The shocking footage, captured this weekend, shows firefighters dousing the fireball car with jets of water, while shouting and running can be heard in the background.

The singer can also be heard expressing his shock as he talks to the crews fighting to bring the inferno under control.

His former bandmate Kym Marsh retweeted the video, saying: "Wow! Flipping eck! I'm glad you're ok! X"

Vauxhall Customer Service has also reached out to the singer, apologising for the incident, and asking him to contact the company.

London Fire Brigade raised concerns about the safety of the cars after it released figures showing it attended 71 fires involving the vehicles - not including arson attacks - since 2013, compared to 38 in the previous four years.

Vauxhall is writing to 220,000 Zafira B owners to ask them to arrange for their cars to be inspected by a local dealer, as the company investigates a potential fault with the heating and ventilation systems of the Zafira model.

A spokesman said: "While the number of incidents is very low in proportion to the number of vehicles on the road, we take this issue very seriously and will take further action."
