Glastonbury revellers who endured traffic gridlock and mud today received some good news - the sun is set to shine.

The festival yesterday experienced the worst traffic problems in its history with some people caught up in jams for up to 14 hours.

With thousands more ticket-holders arriving on site today, Avon and Somerset Police said that they are working on “a new plan to get traffic moving”.

The thick mud across the festival site could have a chance to dry today as meteorologists have predicted the sun will come out.

The Met Office is forecasting temperatures of up to 21C, with bright and sunny spells.

However, showers could make a reappearance in the evening.

Those who braved the gridlock will be treated to sets from the likes of Kate Tempest and A Guy Called Gerald today before the main acts start tomorrow.

A tribute to murdered MP Jo Cox was also being held this afternoon.
