Lord Sugar and George Galloway in bitter row over 'anti-Semitic' Tweet which saw him axed from TalkRadio

Lord Sugar and George Galloway are engaged in a blistering row over an “anti-Semitic” tweet that saw the politician axed from TalkRadio.

The former Labour party member, who hosted the TalkRadio show since 2016, faced criticism and was condemned by Spurs after he was accused of "blatant anti-Semitism" by the club.

In congratulating the Merseyside club on their Champions League win, Mr Galloway tweeted: "Congratulations to the great people of Liverpool to the memory of socialist miner Bill Shankley, to the fallen #96, to those who fought for justice for them and to the Liverpool dockers. No Israel flags on the cup".

Mr Galloway and Lord Sugar descended into a heated argument on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, when Mr Galloway attempted to defend his controversial tweet.

They continued the ongoing row on Twitter, with Lord Sugar branding Mr Galloway a "racist" after he claimed Tottenham fans were flying Israeli flags.

On the show the former MP had claimed to host Piers Morgan that “hundreds of them” were being flown by Tottenham supporters during the weekend’s Champions League final.

Lord Sugar called the former MP a liar on Good Morning Britain.

However Lord Sugar, who attended the football final, responded in a live video saying: “He’s taking a load of garbage as usual. I walked with 15,000 Tottenham fans and the Liverpool fans from where they dropped me off because we couldn’t get the car through.

“I did not see, and I have never seen, an Israeli flag flown. There were no Israeli flags with the fans. The fans had their blue and white stuff but I never seen an Israeli flag flown.

“He’s a bloody liar. A total liar.”

Galloway then intervened, telling Lord Sugar to “just Google it”, adding: “You’ll see hundreds of them.”

Lord Sugar replied: “Just shut your mouth, just shut your mouth for a minute.”

George Galloway later reignited the spat on Twitter saying: “Hey Lord Sugar: I hereby challenge you to a debate on Racism in the Albert Hall.

“My half of the gate money will go to Palestinian kids in Gaza. You can drink the rest.

“Be a man, Lord Sugar, be a man.”

Both men were retweeting tweets from commenters supporting their side of the row and responding to those who were criticising them online.

Lord Sugar called out the former MP for blocking him on the social media platform so he could not respond saying: “I would not be in the same room as you let alone the royal Albert hall. You are anti-semetic and a racist.”

Historically, many Tottenham supporters have come from the UK’s Jewish community and several former chairmen have been Jewish.
