Games of Thrones fan The Duchess of Cornwall tried to get star actor Kit Harington to reveal the secret plot when they met.

Kit, 30, who plays Jon Snow in the hit series, said he met Camilla when he was invited to the royal table at the Wimbledon tennis tournament.

He told the BBC One show that she immediately tried to get him to spill the beans about the plot.

She came straight up to him, he said, and asked: "So are you dead?"

The Duchess was referring to the cliffhanger moment in the series when his character Jon Snow was murdered by his men. He was later brought back to life in the series by a witch.

Harington, born in Acton, joked that it was hard to imagine Prince Charles and Camilla in bed tuning into Game of Thrones.

He said he has just finished the read-through of the series, "so I know everything."

He also said he had a weep when he thought of the series - that has been running for eight years - coming to an end as it has been an important part of his life.
