This is the first picture of rising rap star NoLay’s horrific injuries after she was left fighting for her life from a car crash.
The grime artist was taken to hospital in a critical condition after the overseas accident last weekend, her manager Tyler Jones said.
And in a picture posted online from hospital yesterday, she was seen in a neck brace and with horrific bruising on her face and body.
Mr Jones has now passed on a message of thanks to fans from the star, who has collaborated with artist Tricky and appeared in the Channel 4 series Top Boy, as she spoke for the first time since the crash.
He told the Standard: "NoLay has spoken for the first time and has been fully responsive ever since.
"Doctors have now ruled out any signs of brain damage and paralysis, NoLay has also been moved from the Intensive Care Unit to the ward."
Details of the crash remain unclear, but Mr Jones has confirmed it happened abroad at about 11pm last Sunday.
He added: "NoLay is in pain after suffering her injuries and will be returning to the UK in the next few days, as doctors are pleased with her recovery and progress thus far.
"NoLay would like to thank all of her fans for coming together and supporting her at a difficult time like this. The prayers and support has allowed her to wake up and find strength to fight on. Thank you all."
Stars including Katy B and the organisers of the Mobo awards were among those who left messages of support online for the artist after the crash.
