Please release moo: cow gets its head stuck in a tree

Firefighters had to free a cow from a tree after the animal got is head trapped in the trunk.

The curious black bovine was sedated by a vet before firefighters used saws and other heavy duty tools to extract her on Sunday.

Strops and farm machinery were also used to try and pull her from the trunk.

North Yorkshire Fire Service posted news of their unusual call out on Twitter before tweeting pictures of the rescue mission.

The fire service said: “Northallerton crew have attended a cow with its head stuck in a tree! Crew attempted to release cow using strops & farm machinery.

“Vet attended to sedate cow & crew used dewalt saw & chainsaw along with hand tools to release cow. #newcowtrend #poorcow.”
