Beckham dresses stolen from lorry

12 April 2012

A collection of Victoria Beckham dresses were stolen from a delivery van as they were driven to Heathrow Airport, a spokeswoman for the singer-turned-designer said.

Beckham was said to be "shocked and upset" to hear the van driver had been pushed to the ground by thieves who broke into the vehicle as he made a delivery.

Dozens of dresses, destined for sale at Neiman Marcus in New York, had been collected from the offices of 19 Entertainment, in west London, on Thursday.

It is believed the delivery van may have been followed as part of a planned theft.

When the driver returned from making a delivery, the van's padlocks were broken and two men burst out of the back of the van carrying two large boxes of dresses.

The driver was left shaken and bruised as he was knocked down when the men barged past.

The former Spice Girl's spokeswoman said it was hoped the spring/summer collection could be remade in time for delivery to Neiman Marcus.

She said police were investigating the incident.
