Trains on the London Underground will be running later than usual during the Olympics to make sure spectators can get home from the Games.

Transport for London (TfL) said that the last trains that travel westbound from the Olympic Park in Stratford, east London, will go at 1.30am while the Games are taking place.

All last trains on all lines departing central London will also leave around an hour later than usual, at about 1.30am.

Meanwhile on the night of the opening ceremony on July 27 Tube services will operate until after 2.30am, with the last trains leaving Stratford and central London then.

An audience of about 62,000 is expected in the Olympic Stadium to watch the ceremony, which is due to start at 9pm and finish between 12am and 12.30am.
