Commuters faced travel chaos on the Tube on Tuesday evening as delays hit four lines.

The Circle, District, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan lines were all severely disrupted after a signal failure at Edgware Road shortly before 7pm.

There was no service across the entire Circle line, while the District and Hammersmith and City lines were both part suspended.

Once trains were running again, the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines experienced severe delays into the evening, while the District line had minor delays.

It had earlier been suspended between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road while the Hammersmith and City was suspended between Baker Street and Hammersmith.

On the Metropolitan line, there were severe delays between Harrow on the Hill and Aldgate into the evening and minor delays on the rest of line.
