Commuters travelling on trains passing through Wimbledon are set to face rush hour delays after a man was hit by a train at Raynes Park station earlier today.

South West Trains services between London Waterloo and Woking will be subject to cancellations, divertions and delays of up to 60 minutes until at least 8pm.

Services have been disrupted since the man was struck by a train at the south-west London station just before 9.30am this morning, on the line between Waterloo and Woking.

Passengers have been advisted that South West tickets can be used on London Buses, Thameslink, Southern, London Underground and Great Western Railway, should they wish to take alternative routes home.

A South West Trains spokesperson said: "Whilst the emergency services were dealing an incident earlier today, we were unable to run any trains on our suburban network.

"We will be reintroducing our train services over the course of the next few hours and although trains will continue to be subject to disruption, they will be calling at all stations as normal.

"This will be done as trains and crews become available, so, before travelling, you should check whether your train will be running on our website or at your departure station.

"We are sorry for any disruption that today's incident may have caused you.

"London Buses, Thameslink, Southern, London Underground and Great Western Railway are accepting South West Trains' ticket holders."
