Motorists were facing huge delays on the M5 this morning after an accident between junctions 22 and 23.

Highways England said a vehicle crossed the central reservation in the crash. It is not known if there were any injuries.

As of 8am, one of three lanes was closed on the southbound route, with one of four lanes shut northbound.

The agency said it will be noon before northbound traffic conditions return to normal, while traffic is expected to have cleared southbound by 9.45am.

The motorway links the Midlands with the south-west.
