A person has died after being hit by a train at Leicester Square station.
Emergency services rushed to the busy central London station just before 7.45pm on Wednesday.
The person, whose age and gender is not yet known, died at the scene after being hit by a Northern line train, British Transport Police said.
The station was evacuated while emergency crews dealt with the incident.
The Northern line was severely delayed for several hours.
A BTP spokesman said: “A person has sadly died after they were struck by a Northern Line train at Leicester Square London Underground station this evening.
“Officers from BTP were called at 7.43pm and attended alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
“They remain on scene, working to ID the person and to inform their family. This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
