Driver ordered crying two-year-old off bus

A bus driver has ordered a two-year-old girl off his vehicle because she was crying.

Paryss Walter, 22, was heading home when her daughter Lillie became upset. But as she tried to calm her down, the driver allegedly turned round and swore at them, telling them to get off his bus because he had a headache.

Ms Walter protested and other passengers told her that they weren’t bothered by her daughter and that she should stay on the bus. But Ms Walter said the driver’s attitude became more aggressive and she started to fear for her safety so she got off the bus in the dark, a 10-minute walk from their home in Walton, near Felixstowe, Suffolk.

She complained to First Bus about the driver’s behaviour who has been ordered to go on a course to retrain him in customer service. A spokesman said: “The driver has been identified and the disciplinary process is still ongoing. First Bus take allegations of this nature extremely seriously.”
