Cork Airport has been temporarily closed after the nose wheel of an executive jet burst on the runway.

A crane is being sent to remove the jet from the runway following the incident, which took place before the plane's departure.

No injuries have been reported and Cork Airport's fire service is currently on the scene.

A number of flights have already been cancelled, and passengers in the airport have reportedly been told all flights will be delayed by a minimum of two hours.

Passengers are advised to check the status of their flights with the airline.
