Chiswick Park station: Person dies after being hit by District line train in west London

A person has died after being hit by a District line train at Chiswick Park station.

Police and paramedics rushed to the west London station during rush hour on Thursday morning.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene at about 9am. Police have not yet released further details about them.

At around the same time emergency services crews were called to Earl’s Court following concerns for the welfare of a person on the tracks. The person was taken to a place of safety.

The Jubilee, Central, Piccadilly and Circle lines were all also hit by disruption on Thursday morning, as was the London Overground.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Chiswick Park Underground station at 8.55am today after reports of a person being struck a train.

“Colleagues from the London Ambulance Service also attended, however, a person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are working to identify the person and inform their family. This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious.”
