Dust off those trainers and plug in your headphones: marathon training starts now.

What better to accompany those embarking on a training schedule for the London Marathon than a new running-focused podcast from Women’s Health’s digital editor and Instagram influencer, Amy Hopkinson.

Named Well Far, the new podcast launched yesterday on your favourite podcast platforms and is produced by Mags Creative. The first episode sees Hopkinson chat to footwear expert Emma Kirk-Odunubi to answer all your footcare and trainer questions ahead of training. She also manages to fit in a lunchtime run with fellow editor, Andy Dixon, of Runner’s World magazine.

Throughout the season there’s going to be 15 episodes featuring Hopkinson’s commentary about her own training journey, alongside interviews with experts and coaches offering advice you can apply to your own fitness regime. European Championship sprinter Dina Asher-Smith will be making an appearance, alongside celebrity personal trainer Esmee Gummer.

The podcast isn’t just for those preparing for a gruelling 26.2 mile run but anyone looking to get their shoes on and pound the pavements. Whether you’re doing Couch to 5K, or are a seasoned runner, Hopkinson says there will be something for everyone.

Fitness podcasts are a growing trend. InForm Fitness, 20-minute podcast episodes from hit US personal trainer Andy Zickerman, launched in 2017 and discusses trends around exercise such as working out according to your genetics, or the issues with functional training.

Hurdle is another popular one, featuring inspirational humans, including top CEOs and athletes, on how they pushed through a tough time by incorporating wellness into their routines. Recent episodes include interviews with Nike’s senior director of performance, and a former Navy SEAL turned fitness inventor.

If you want to inject some comedy into your training regime, then The Dumbbells is a must-download. Hosted by two comedians, Eugene Codero and Ryan Stranger, The Dumbbells covers fitness tips, diet breakdowns, all with a healthy dose of laughter.
