Apple have unveiled a brand new version of the iPad Pro at their Apple Event in Cupertino, California.

The techn firm will bring out a new, smaller version of their highest performing tablet at a cheaper price, and with new features and accessories.

The tablet will feature a 9.7” retina display, the same size as the iPad Air 2, and is 25% brighter than that model.

It has been pitched as “the ultimate PC replacement”, with Apple execs hoping that those with old Windows computers will see the iPad Pro as a valid new option.

The announcement featured particular emphasis on a new compatible USB adapter, which will allow USB devices to be plugged into the iPad Pro.

Weighing in at less than 1lb, the device features four speakers, a True Tone display, and runs on Apple’s most advanced A9X chip.

It can shoot 4K video, and features a 5MP front camera.

The iPad Pro starts from $599 in a 32GB model, while the highest end of the scale has been extended – a 256GB version was also revealed.

The new iPad Pro will be available from March 31, with pre-orders beginning on Thursday 24.
