We’re still a few months away from the official announcement of Google’s next smartphone range but it looks like the Google Pixel 3 has been well and truly leaked.

An image of the larger device, the Google Pixel 3XL has been circulating around Russia as a number of bloggers appear to have gotten their hands on the device. As a result, all the details are available online for you to see.

Here’s what we know so far about the Google Pixel 3.

Google Pixel 3: inside the box

The Russian blog Rozetked scooped Google with the first huge leak, detailing everything in the phone’s box.

The phablet-type phone comes with a USB-C charger, a Quick Switch Adapter - to transfer data from a previous phone, and crucially a headphone jack dongle.

This means Google is not bringing back the 3.5mm headphone jack for the Pixel 3 range, following in Apple’s footsteps.

As well, the box also contains Google’s new Pixel buds, which include a dedicated Google Assistant button.

What about the camera?

The camera is a big deal when it comes to smartphones, but unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the Pixel 3 is getting much of an upgrade.

Leaks suggest the phone has a 12.2MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture – which denotes the part of the camera that allows light to reach the film or image sensor, with a low number being better. Good specs to see, but these are the same as the Google Pixel 2, last year’s phone.

How will the new Google Pixel 3 look?

So far, the Russian leaks are detailing images of the XL device, the higher end model. According to blogger Wylsacom, who apparently says he found the phone in a taxi according to CNET, the phone has the signature two-tone back, with a fingerprint sensor in the middle and only one camera.

This means Google isn't getting into the dual lens hype just yet.

As well, there’s an iPhone-esque notch and apparently a high-quality OLED screen that measures 6.2inches, with a screen resolution of 1,440x2960.

Inside the phone, the leaks are suggesting it will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor, just like the OnePlus 6, and will come with 4GB of memory and 64GB of storage.

As with all leaks we have to take them with a pinch of salt and wait until the actual launch day to see what the Google Pixel 3 will really be like.

That being said, suspense is building ahead of that October launch to see what Google does pull out of the bag for its next Pixel range.
