So you’re all caught up in the Euros, and the hopes of England making it through to the final stages of the competition are still alive – and it makes you want to head out and play a match yourself.

Except, the British summer being what it is, the weather has different plans, and heading out in the rain might not be the most attractive option.

Still, if you’ve got an iPhone or an Android smartphone, a hidden Facebook game might do the trick for now.

In the messenger app, there’s a secret ‘keepie-uppie’ game that users can access – and it’s free to play.

To find it, download the most up-to-date version of the Facebook Messenger app and open up a chat. Then it’s as simple as sending the football emoji, tapping it in the conversation – and preparing to play.

The game involves touching the ball on the screen to keep it in the air – which might sound easy, but soon gets tricky once you’re on a roll.

For those who sunk hours of their lives into Messenger’s basketball game (accessed by sending the basketball emoji), this is very similar – and equally addictive.

For those wanting a slightly more brain-taxing game to play with a friend, Facebook Messenger also features a two-player chess function – to find it, send a message reading @fbchess.
