Apple is set to unveil the new iPhone 8 in just over two weeks, it has been reported.

The tech giant is expected to announce three iPhones on September 12, according to the Wall Street Journal.

One of the three will reportedly be a larger showcase model to mark the iPhone’s tenth anniversary.

There has been no comment from Apple about the alleged unveiling, and no official invites to the event.

The new model is expected to benefit from a host of new features, including infrared facial recognition that negates the need for unlocking with passcodes or fingerprints.

A near-full screen design on the front is also set to be introduced, ditching the home button that appears on all existing iPhone models.

It’s also suggested that the new model will come with a wireless charging facility, after pictures of the alleged technology went viral on Chinese social media site Weibo.

However, Apple has not commented on the pictures.
