Boris Johnson has promised to unite the country after a "historic election" and a mandate to get Brexit done in Uxbridge and South Ruislip.

Blowing wild rumours that he could become the first prime minister to lose his seat in history he increased his majority to a resounding 7,210 votes over young Labour upstart Ali Milani.

Having heard that his bitter rival Jeremy Corbyn conceded defeat and will step down just moments earlier, he told the cheering crowd he would "unleash the potential of the entire people of this country."

Earlier shadow chancellor John McDonnell was called "a terrorist" by a heckler after his victory speech for neighbouring Hayes and Harlington.

In an ensuing brawl two heavy blows rained down on a Labour supporter's head as cameras span around.

It was during this turmoil that Boris strode in like a hurricane of flashing cameras with his girlfriend Carrie Symonds parading their dog Dilyn.

In his victory speech at Brunel University in Uxbridge, the PM promised to build one of the 40 new hospitals in his constituency.

He said: "This one nation Conservative government has been given a powerful new mandate to get Brexit done – and not just to get Brexit done but to unite this country and to take it forward.

"If we are returned as the exit polls suggest then that work will start tomorrow", before stuttering in classic Boris fashion, "I mean to say today."

And with that he slipped out the side door answering no questions whilst Brunel students pounded on windows and screamed his name - and made his way back home to Number 10.

His rival Labour's Ali Milani said the electorate were suffering from Brexit fatigue and Johnson's simple message cut through.

He said: "People were tired they wanted us to get over this what seemed insurmountable mountain of Brexit and Boris' three word slogan, which doesn't actually hold a lot within it, seems to have won - at least today."
