Jeremy Corbyn has poked fun at David Cameron today - by claiming the Prime Minister is “jealous” of his sense of style.

Mr Cameron was accused of launching a personal attack on the Labour Party leader during Prime Minister’s Question Time in the House of Commons on Wednesday.

The PM was heckled by Labour MPs over what his mother – who is a critic of local council cuts – would think about problems within the NHS.

Mr Cameron then turned his fire onto the Labour leader, saying: “Ask my mother? I think I know what my mother would say. I think she would look across the despatch box and she would say 'Put on a proper suit, do up your tie and sing the national anthem'.”

Unfazed by Wednesday’s confrontation with the Prime Minister, Mr Corbyn today joked with reporters in Birmingham that Mr Cameon was “actually jealous of the jacket.”

He added: “You know what he’s really jealous of – that I can go shopping in the great shopping centre of the world, Holloway Road, N7.

“And he’s stuck with Bond Street.”
