World eagerly awaits Prospect's World Thinker decision

Who will top Prospect magazine‘s World Thinker poll on Thursday, the annual race to be named the most influential intellectual?

Last time the Londoner checked, Sheryl Sandberg, despite being CEO of Facebook, hadn’t received very many “likes”, while physicist Peter Higgs and pollster Nate Silver were riding high. Prospect is keeping the results a closely guarded secret for the next 24 hours.

“We received votes from 110 countries,” says one totting up the votes. Surprisingly, “Afghanistan was one of the leading voting countries, propelling a relatively little known thinker into a high spot."
