The Oldie and Miles Goslett get gong for Savile scoop

23 May 2013

Hats off to Miles Goslett, a former diarist on this page, named joint winner of the Scoop of the Year at the London Press Club Awards yesterday for revealing the Jimmy Savile scandal in The Oldie.

The story was rejected by seven other papers. Oddly there is still no mention on the BBC website that Liz MacKean and Merion Jones, producers of the Newsnight report on the Savile scandal which was dropped by BBC2, were joint winners. I hope this is not another example of suppression.
